Z4 Lexan

Chemical / Petrochemical manufacturing often requires severe-service conditions, involving high temperature, high pressure, corrosive chemistry, erosive particulates, and/or frequent cycling.  Whether enabling the handling of hydrogen, the world’s most abundant element, or supporting the production of polyethylene, one of the most ubiquitous man-made materials, Union Tech engineers application-specific isolation valves that ensure reliable performance, safety, and process integrity.

Z4 Hydrogen

Refining encompasses a broad range of processes, many of which feature unique, application-specific, and often proprietary technical requirements—all operating under severe-service conditions.  Union Tech valves are custom-engineered to the exact demands of each service.  For example, a metal-seated Z4 Rising-Stem Ball Valve may be specified for hydrogen compressor isolation, while a spray-and-fused chromium carbide–coated Z2 Metal-Seated Ball Valve is optimized for heavy oil and residue upgrading applications.

Z2 EOR

Union Tech valves are the preferred isolation valves for leading Upstream EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) operators working in heavy oil reservoirs.  For these applications, Union Tech engineered a custom Z2 Metal-Seated Ball Valve design, capable of enhanced bi-directional shut-off and high cycle durability.  These valves are widely deployed in the steam flow regulating systems – which mitigate phase splitting – as well as in production manifold service.

Midstream operations demand isolation valves capable of withstanding thermal extremes, cycling fatigue, and abrasive desiccant carryover, especially in applications like molecular sieve dehydration.  Union Tech Z4 Rising-Stem Ball Valves advance the original tilt-and-turn design by incorporating state-of-the-art MSBV hardfacing technologies on sealing surfaces, delivering exceptional durability and performance in demanding Midstream environments.

Z2 TEP Springerville

Power generation environments—especially those handling superheated steam—demand isolation solutions with exceptional durability.  Union Tech’s Z1 and Z1LW Metal-Seated Ball Valves were designed expressly for this service, delivering extended operating life and eliminating the frequent repair cycles typical of gate and globe valves.  To streamline maintenance, the Z3 Power Valve System offers inline, weld-free replaceability, saving time while improving system availability.  For applications involving solids handling, unique process conditions, or other specialized requirements, the Z2 Metal-Seated Ball Valve offers custom-engineered, plant-specific valve designs that address the operational challenges of each individual facility.

Z2 Mining2

The Z2 Mining Series Valves are purpose-built to meet the rigorous performance demands of modern mining operations—specifically the high temperatures, high pressures, and abrasive, corrosive slurries characteristic of pressure oxidation (POx) and high-pressure acid leaching (HPAL) autoclave systems.  For Slurry Transport applications, Z2 valves are engineered and optimized for extreme abrasion and erosion resistance, ensuring reliable, long-term isolation performance throughout the valve’s operating life.
